DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN KIGALI, RWANDA:

Arrive in Kigali, Rwanda. Transfer from the airport to your hotel for a welcome drink and orientation. Dinner and overnight at your hotel, no activity on this day!

DAY 2: KIGALI CITY TOUR:

After breakfast, we will depart from your hotel around 08am for a sightseeing city tour of Kigali, one of the cleanest cities in east-central Africa. You will drive through the administrative, museum and economic districts of Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda. The tour will start with visiting the Kandt house museum to discover much about Dr Richard Kandt who was seeking the source of River Nile. There we shall also learn more about the origin and development of Kigali city. Afterwards we will proceed to the Belgian memorial which is dedicated to Belgian soldiers who have been perished during early 1994 Tutsi genocide. Next, we continue to the Campaign against Genocide museum twhich detailly shows how the Campaign Against Genocide Plan was executed by RPF/A following the withdrawal of UN troops leaving the targeted Tutsi under the mercy of the Genocidaires and how only the RPF/A forces who were in the war of liberation took the unilateral decision to not only stop Genocide and rescue victims of Genocide but also defeated the Genocidal forces. After Lunch we will close our day’s tour on Gisozi genocide memorial which is the final resting place for more than 250,000 victims of the Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. It honors the memory of more than one million Rwandans perished in 1994 Tutsi genocide. Our tour will end at around 05pm.

DAY 3: VISIT ETHNOGRAPHIC MUSEUM, KING’S PALACE MUSEUM AND TRANSFER TO NYAMASHEKE DISTRICT:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We will wake up early in the morning at around 06am for breakfast and checkout as we will start our trip by visiting the Ethnographic museum which was built in 1987 and now houses one of Africa’s finest ethnographic collections. Its seven galleries display historical, ethnographic, artistic and archaeological artifacts accompanied by visual aids, giving visitors a rich insight into the culture of Rwandans. It is located in Huye, 132 km South of Kigali-Rwanda’s Capital. The Ethnographic Museum is one of the eight museums that make up the Institute of National Museums of Rwanda. After this tour we will proceed our journey to the Nyanza district for lunch, after lunch we will visit the King’s palace museum which is residence of King Mutara III Rudahigwa and the Royal Palace that was traditionally built. This Palace offers a detailed look into Rwandan traditional seat of their monarchy, it is an impressive museum, restored to its 19th century state and made entirely with traditional materials. Recently the Long-horned Traditional cows, known in Kinyarwanda as “Inyambo” were also introduced because of the fact that cows form an integral part of Rwandan Culture. On the neighboring hill of Mwima, one can also visit the burial grounds of King Mutara III and his wife Queen Rosalie Gicanda. As we close our trip on this day we will reach Nyamasheke around 07pm for check in, dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 4: VISIT NYUNGWE NATIONAL PARK/CANOPY AND TRANSFER TO KARONGI:

We will wake up in the morning at around 08am for breakfast and to drive roughly 1.5h to Nyungwe to later in the afternoon visit the canopy walkway which is the bridge adjourned between huge trees where one get the feeling of fresh air while being 70m above the forest floor. Apart from the freshness in the air and the wonderful aerial view of the trees, you will also enjoy the sights of fantastic birds that fly across. The walkway was opened in 2010 and it’s the only one of its kind in east Africa and the third one on the African continent. This 90m long canopy walk way also gives a unique face to face meeting with butterflies, birds and the monkeys.After visiting a canopy, we will drive to Karongi which is a 96 km, about 1-hour 30min drive approx. where we will check in relax with the local communities around Kivu lake.

DAY 5: VISIT KARONGI AND TRANSFER TO RUBAVU DISTRICT

We shall start our trip at around 08am after breakfast and checking out. We will start with a boat trip visiting different island in Lake Kivu like Napoleon island which contains a colony of more than 5000 Fruit Bats. Other islands include King island, Queen island, Monkey island and Peace island and we even have a chance to visit the place where German soldiers left their boat during the second World War and where their factories were located. Further, we will enjoy the great view of Karongi and Rutsiro mountains. After vising all the islands we shall take a lunch and in the afternoon hours we will proceed our trip to Rubavu which will take us about 2hrs 23 min, a 111km drive. On the way to Rubavu we will enjoy the great scenery of the country of thousand hills as we will be moving through the Congo-Nile Divide Road around the lake shore. Once we reach Rubavu we will first check in and then relax by the lake before spending the night there.

DAY 6: RUBAVU CITY TOUR, HOT WATER SPRING TRIP, BOAT RIDING AND RELAXATION ON KIVU LAKE:

We shall start our trip at around 08am. After breakfast and check out we will visit Gisenyi, a town located in Rubavu district in the Western Province of Rwanda. Gisenyi Town is near Goma Town across the border in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. We will have a chance to see main borders that separate Rwanda and DR. Congo. Later on we will do a boat riding trip on Kivu lake  to have a good view of the lake and the town. Eventually we will relax by the lakeside, go for a swim and simply enjoy the lake. We will end our tour around 05pm and enjoy the nightlife with the local communities in Rubavu that will end around 10pm for dinner and overnight accomodation there.

DAY 7: TRANSFER FROM RUBAVU TO MUSANZE FOR GORILLA TREKKING AND GORILLA GUARDIAN TOUR:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We wake up in the early morning at 05am. Following breakfast and check out we will drive to Kinigi for registration and taking a briefing from a park guide. At exactly 8.30 am, we shall be reaching to the park’s headquarters in Kinigi Village where you are briefed by the park guide about the rules and regulations governing Gorilla tracking. You are distributed into different groups and then sent off into the forest. The trek takes an hour to about 8 more depending on where the gorillas had been the previous day. The hike is quite strenuous but all the more rewarding once you set your eyes on the gentle mountain gorillas. They always move in a big number with the Silverback at the lead. You will watch them carrying out their day to day routine like the juveniles playing, mothers feeding their young ones and the Silverbacks taking watch.

After the tour we will be back to Musanze city for lunch. In the afternoon hours we will visit the Gorilla guardian. Located close to Volcanoes National Park and the town of Musanze, the Gorilla guardian is an enchanting cultural experience that has come from the ashes of Rwanda’s infamous poaching culture. Gorilla guardian has rehabilitated these former criminals and also provided them with a way to support their community while also introducing visitors to the unique culture of pre-colonial Rwanda. A visit to Gorilla guardian includes a variety of activities including traditional dance and music, learning about traditional medicines and foods, spending a day in the life of a Rwandan king, and a number of local activities such as village walks and overnight

DAY 8: TRANSFER FROM MUSANZE TO LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK:

We wake up in the early morning at 06am and after breakfast and check out we will drive to Lake Mburo national park. During the drive we will enjoy the view and landscape of the two countries Rwanda & Uganda. The journey is 305 km long and it will take us about 5 hrs. and 40minto complete. Following arrival we will check in and spend a night in the park.

DAY 9: FULL GAME DRIVE IN LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK

We wake up early at around 07am for breakfast and start our game drive in Lake Mburo national park. The lake was originally gazetted in 1933 as a controlled hunting area and upgraded to a game reserve in 1963. The Banyankole Bahima residents continued to graze their cattle in the reserve until it was upgraded to national park status in 1983.

Lake Mburo National Park is located in Kiruhura District in the Western Region of Uganda. The park is about 30 kilometers (19 mi), by road, east of Mbarara, the largest city in the sub-region. This location is approximately 240 kilometers (150 mi), by road, west of Kampala, Uganda’s capital and largest city. The park has a variety of animals such as zebras, hippopotami, impala, warthogs, elands, buffaloes, jackals, leopards, and over three hundred (300) bird species. At 260 square kilometres (100 sq. mi), the park is the smallest of Uganda’s Savannah national parks. Our tour will end at around 04pm, and we will have an overnight stay here.

DAY 10: TRANSFER FROM LAKE MBURO TO QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK AND DO A GAME DRIVE IN THE PARK:

We wake up early at around 07am for breakfast and start our drive to the Queen Elizabeth national park which is a 120 km and 2hrs. 20 min drive. After reaching the park we will do a game drive in the park that is known for spectacular wildlife including  CapebuffaloeshippopotamicrocodileselephantsleopardsCongo lions, and chimpanzees. It is in total home to 95 species of mammal and over 500 species of birds. Moreover, the park is also famous for its volcanic features, including volcanic cones and deep craters, many with crater lakes, such as the Katwe craters from which salt is extracted. Services in the park include a telecenter, the Queen’s Pavilion, park lodges, game and scenic drives, and boat launches. Overnight accomodation will be at a recommended hotel around the town of Rubirizi.

DAY 13: TRANSFER FROM QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK TO KAMPALA

 

We wake up around 06am for breakfast and check out. Afterwards we drive from the park to Kampala which is a 385 km and about 6 hrs. 43 min long drive. After reaching Kampala we check in, have dinner and enjoy the night life. We will stay overnight there.

DAY 12: KAMPALA SIGHTSEEING TOUR TRANSFER TO JINJA:

We wake up at around 08am for breakfast and check out and then spend the morning hours sightseeing Kampala city. After Lunch we move on to jinja which is 84 km away and it will take us about 2hrs. 23 min to get there. Jinja District is bordered by Kamuli District to the north, Luuka District to the east, Mayuge District to the south-east, Buvuma District to the south, Buikwe District to the west, and Kayunga District to the north-west. Following arrival we check in a hotel and have dinner.

DAY 13: VISITING WHITE NILE WATER RAFTING AND TRANSFER TO KISUMU:

We wake up around 06am for breakfast and check out. Afterwards,  we proceed by visiting the White Nile water rafting which is located in Buwenda Village near Bujagali, 80 km East of Kampala City. They proudly offer a wide variety of services including water activities: rafting, kayaking, family floating trips, boat cruises, fishing trips and other additional activities such as: safaris, mountain biking, village walks and accommodation. The activity that we will do there is rafting in the morning hours then after lunch we will move on to Kisumu for the night.

DAY 14: TRANSFER FROM KISUMU TO LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK AND GAME DRIVE:

Waking up at around 08am for breakfast and check out then transferring to Lake Nakuru national park, where we make a brief stopover at the Equator and Thompsons Falls. We arrive in Lake Nakuru National Park in time for lunch. This park is famous for being home to thousands of lesser and greater flamingos. This park also provides sanctuary for the Rothschild giraffe, black and white rhino and the elusive leopard. After refreshing and a short rest we will have an afternoon game drive till dusk. All meals and overnight at Lake Nakuru Lodge. Meal plan full board. Other animals’ species to be found here include the ever elusive leopard, lions, hippos, buffalos, waterbucks, warthogs and the baboons are all residents here.

DAY 15: TRANSFER FROM LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK TO MASAI MARA NATIONAL PARK:

We will wake up at around 08am for breakfast and checkout and then transfer to Masai Mara national park which may take us 3hrs. and 22min, covering about 171 km. After reaching the park in the afternoon we shall enjoy the culture of the Local communities around (Masai) and we end our tour around 08 pm for dinner and an overnight stay there.

DAY 16: GAME DRIVE IN MASAI MARA NATIONAL PARK:

We wake up around 08am for breakfast followed by a game drive in Masai Mara. It is named after the traditional inhabitants (Masai) and the Mara River. At some point during your stay in the Mara, you’ll drive by the river which is a great place to spot wildlife. Masai Mara is at the northern most extension of the Serengeti Plains and one of the richest wildlife game reserves. Its home to the splendid black manned lion, the elusive leopard, stately giraffe, vast bulk of elephants, rhino, thundering herds of zebra, migrating wildebeest and numerous others. The park is  crossed by the Mara and Talek rivers, full of crocodiles and hippos. There is a particularly dramatic spectacle from July to November, the annual migration of huge herds of Gnus and zebras. Predators such as Hyenas, Jackals, Leopards and Lions of course, closely follow these herds. Gigantic herds of over 200 buffaloes can also be observed. Predators such as Hyenas, Jackals, Leopards and Lions of course, closely follow these herds. Our tour may end at around 07pm for dinner and overnight accomodation.

DAY 17: TRANSFER FROM MASAI MARA TO NAIROBI:

Wake up early in the morning at around 06am for breakfast and checkout and move on to Nairobi city which is a 280km long about 5-6 hours drive. In Nairobi we will have lunch and relax in the afternoon hours. Later on we will do a Nairobi night city tour, have dinner and spend the night in Nairobi.

DAY 18: NAIROBI NATIONAL PARK TOUR:

Wake up early in the morning at around 08am for breakfast and get ready for the national park which is situated approximately 100 miles from Nairobi, a two-hour drive from Nairobi city. The park is a sanctuary of rhinoceros and the Rothschild’s Giraffe and has a large reserve of over 300 species of birds, which make it an ideal site of bird lovers. The main attractions here include thousands of Flamingos (Greater and Lesser), 56 different species of mammals, Waterfalls and sightseeing of the city. Our tour will end at around 07pm for dinner and another overnight stay in Nairobi.

DAY 19: TRANSFER FROM NAIROBI TO TSAVO WEST NATIONAL PARK:

Wake up early in the morning at around 08am for breakfast and get ready for moving on to Tsavo west national park which is a 281km long and 4hrs. 42 min drive. On the way we will be enjoying the view and landscape of Kenya, have lunch and in afternoon hours we will enjoy the park. Our trip shall end at around 08pm with dinner and the overnight stay in Voi.

DAY 20: TSAVO WEST NATIONAL PARK HALF GAME DRIVE AND TRANSFER TO MOMBASA:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We wake up early at around 07am for breakfast and to start our drive to Tsavo west national park which is famous for being the best place in Africa to get close to free-ranging elephants. On a clear day, you’ll also have spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest free-standing mountain in the world. You have the chance to view and photograph the big 5 which include the Lion, Leopard, Rhino, Buffalo and Elephant till dusk. Our tour shall be done in morning hours then after noon after lunch we will proceed our journey to Mombasa city which is approximately 201 km long and taks ca. 3hrs. 48min. We have dinner at 07pm and spend the night in Mombasa city.

DAY 21: MOMBASA FULL DAY CITY TOUR:

 

Wake up early in the morning at around 08am after breakfast for a Mombasa city tour which is one of the major tourist destinations in Africa. Mombasa is a coastal city in Kenya that is home to some of the best white sand beaches in the world. The Indian Ocean offers everything from swimming and water sports to deep-sea fishing, sailing, and scuba diving. But Mombasa also has an interesting cultural history as well as fascinating architecture and great restaurants and clubs. You can experience it all through interesting guided tours. A city tour of Mombasa lets you see the highlights of this old city. You can visit the produce markets, see the Old Arab streets, and see Fort Jesus that was built by the Portuguese to protect the harbor. You will have a chance to walk under the famous Moi Avenue’s Elephant tusks used in the filming of adventure movies made about Africa.
